Looking for advice to relieve severe sore throat symptoms caused by flu?

Sounds like you could have strep throat, which is treatable with antibiotics. Do you have any white pustules (spots at the back of your throat)? Is it very painful to swallow? Is your fever in the 102 range? I would go see a doctor or minute clinic. Bronchitis is mostly in your lungs, not throat. And change the contacts - if they are infected, you'll get sick every time you wear them.
