Why do girls wear Snow Boots in the summer?

Uggs aren't snow boots. They are fashion boots. I live in Canada and I have seen first hand what happens to uggs in snow, slush and ice. Not pretty. It ruins them. However I agree that wearing fur lined boots with shorts and a little tank top when it's over 75F or 25 Celsius looks ridiculously silly. If it's hot enough for shorts and a tank top, it's too hot for fur lined boots.
