Unsafe to wear enagement ring on European vacation?

Actually I wouldn't wear it anywhere in Europe only because I have friends who went to Europe for their honeymoon and a guy came over and said "ohh congrats, let me see" and they will pretend like theyre looking and the ring and try and take it. or they'll ask to see it an drun off with it.
