Effective Alternative Menopause Treatment?

Hey guys i am asking this on behalf of my mum. She is currently going through the menopause and her hot flushes get her really bad and she gets really agitated, she does not want HRT because of all of its side effects and has been advised against Any sort of hormone therapy due to her blood pressure. Her doctor recommended some herbal tablets from Holland an Barrett but they didn't help with anything. Have any of you ladies tried any alternative treatments that ACTUALLY worked? This is driving her crazy and she needs some kind of relief from it. Thanks, serious answers only please.
