Is DREAM ACT bill more like a nightmare?
It would be nice if the DREAM act went through. People can stop deportation anyways..... all they have to do is wait until they are arrested for driving or something that is not really a crime after spending 10 years in the country. They will not sign the deportation papers, tell immigration they want to see a immigration judge, the judge will grant bail, once on bail they will get a set court date, at that court date they will give the judge a cancellation of deportation application, once that happens the judge will very carefully consider it, look over it and if he approves it, (which is very likely if you have a american citizen family here) he will give you a automatic permanent residents card here and there you go.... automatic citizenship. You only have one chance in your life for this, so the judge looks very carefully. There are other ways to get around if he the judge doesn't approve it..... such as where you fill out a application to voluntarily leave the country... and if it's approved, it's as if you were never in the untied states ever. So then you can go back to your country and apply for a visa and do things the right way. =] Trust me there are even more but if I named them all it would be forever... you might also want to look into the refugee thing..
